Sarah Tisdale's BIO:
Sarah Tisdale has worked with young children for over twelve years, working in early childhood education programs as a lead teacher inside the classroom and as a one-on-one inside-the-home as a homeschool teacher. WIth a background is in Early Childhood Education, Philosophy and Critical Race Theory and as graduate of the Regional Arts Commission's Community Arts and Training Program; her curriculum integrates critical thinking, playfulness, exploration of materials and culturally relevant lessons that are developmentally appropriate.
Her practice is guided by the belief that “Educators are undercover artists.” This framework necessitates that a teacher’s function to is provide guidance, to provoke and collaborate with students in order to best to facilitate and nurture the skill of creative effort.
Although her experience in the visual arts are across many mediums her personal practice focuses on the fabric arts, specifically hand embroidery.
